Instructions Define, qualitative research. For this assignment, contact a person (at least 35 years of age or older) who may be comfortable sharing his/her experiences regarding aging. For the purposes of this assignment, a face-to-face interview may be the best technique. Research should be ethical, and participants need to be assured that their information will be confidential. Please take detailed notes to assist with the assignment. Participants must grant written permission if sessions will be taped. Below, please find sample interview questions: What is your birthday and where were you born? If you have siblings, what is your sibling position?

Who raised you and did they work inside/outside of the home? If so, about how many daily hours did you spend with caregivers? Did you move as a child, if so how many times? What prompted the family move? What were your thoughts and feelings about the move(s)? What are your fondest memories of your hometown? What were the expectations of your young adult role in the family? How were gender roles expressed within family life? Describe your first job. Did you remain on the same career path or have you worked in different industries? In reflecting on the previous 25 years, which domestic or global events/changes were the most prominent? Why?

Did the outcome(s) change any of your core values? Why or why not? Where were you and how did you experience the September 11, 2001 attacks? What are your thoughts regarding the war in Afghanistan? Please share any concerns about modern day, America? How do you believe these concerns affect you personally, your community, the United States of America and the world? What years have been considered the best years of your life so far? Why? Which type of privileges or challenges do you face in society? How often and where did you move as a child? Why did the family move? How did you feel about the moves?

Has technology changed your life? If so, how? Did you choose to marry? If so, how did you meet your spouse and when were you married? Do you have children and/or grandchildren? If so, how many? Have you ever experienced a crisis? If so, how were you affected? Write a short narrative of the events as they were described to you. Which research methods were employed for the study and list the strengths and weaknesses of the method? Which life lessons were learned in this experience? Describe another research method could be effective for this study.

Were any non-verbal body language cues communicated by the interviewee? List any ethical issues that should be considered with this research study. Answers should be submitted in a 5 to 6 page paper.
